Memory games and other games that train memory. Two children play a memory game on the floor

Memory games are fun, and they train much more than memory. Your child practices concentration, patience and waiting for their turn.

1. Memory

The classic. Start with just a few pairs for the littlest ones, for example six pairs, and add more as your child gets better. Cards with your child’s own name and figure make it extra exciting.

2. What’s missing?

Put five things on the table. Your child closes their eyes, and you take one away. What’s missing?

3. I packed my suitcase

“I packed my suitcase, and I brought a teddy bear.” The next person repeats it and adds one more thing.

4. Kim’s game with sounds

Make sounds with kitchen things behind your back. Can your child guess what it is?

5. Simon says

Trains listening and memory. Make the instructions longer as your child gets better.

6. Remember the pattern

Make a pattern with colored blocks. Your child looks, you hide it, and your child builds it from memory.

7. Song games

Songs with hand motions and verses that build on each other are great memory training for the littlest ones.

8. What did you see?

After an outing: What did we see? A red car, a dog, a duck. Your child practices remembering and telling.
